New Favorite Nail Polish?
Wow, three posts on time in a row? Must have been a slow work day. It definitely was on Monday, which is when this post is being written. Anyway, I know I'm a little late, but I figured there were still people who don't know about KL Polish and I wanted to fix that. Let's get into it.
What's KL Polish?
KL Polish is a nail polish brand started by KathleenLights, a beauty guru on YouTube. You can check out her website here! Here's the blurb Kathleen has put on the website.
KL Polish is a cruelty-free, USA-made nail polish line created by me, Kathleen Lights. I have been obsessed with all things beauty since I can remember. I started my YouTube channel in 2013 to share my love of beauty products with the world and have since been on the hunt for the best of the best.
I fell in love with nail polish along the way and have tested countless brands to help me create the perfect formula and shades to share with you. I've always wanted to start my own product line and there's nothing more fitting for me than nail polish.
KL polish is all about giving you affordable and chic nail polish options, without the harsh ingredients. The shades cater to all skin tones so I know you'll find something you love! I'm so excited to be on this journey with you!
Why are there only 6 colors?
That's a great question! KL Polish started selling nail polish in December of 2016, so Kathleen has only put out 6 colors so far. These 6 are her Fall 2016 collection and she has stated she'll be releasing new shades for her Spring 2017 line in April.
There was also a 7th one released, but it was limited edition and I don't buy sparkly nail polish, because I just won't use it.
My favorite colors are Carmelo and Brick Sidewalk.
Why do I love them?
I used to apply these with a base coat, top coat, chip skip, and drying drops like I would with my ESSIE and OPI polish, but I found that these would chip more than the other brands with these things. Parker suggested I try them alone, without any extra coats, and while I doubted him, I did it anyway. It turns out the best way to use these is on their own or with only a top coat. When I use a top coat, I can go about two weeks without the polish chipping, whereas without a top coat, the polish lasts about a week.
It's not a very fast drying formula, but you do not need more than 2 coats to achieve that manicure like appearance. It's not too thin or thick, it's literally a perfect formula. The applicator is a medium sized brush so if you have smaller nails you only need one swipe to cover your entire nail.
So in general, I love these because you don't need too much product, you don't need extra coats or other products to achieve a manicure-esque appearance, and they're super long-lasting.
Are they like $1000?
The nail polishes are only $8.50!
Where can I get these magic nail polishes?
This is probably the downside, but it's also why they're not super expensive, you can only buy them on the KL Polish website. However, they do arrive relatively quickly and when you sign up you can get 10% off your purchase.
So that's my shpeal on KL Polish. If I have any BU friends reading this, feel free to ask to borrow any of the shades (except Gumption, because I don't like dark blue nail polishes) before you make a financial investment! Thanks for reading!
