Fat Sal's: A Food Review


The first time I tried Fat Sal's was last summer. My summer internship at UCLA loved ordering out for lunch and when they asked if I had ever tried Fat Sal's I answered with a small shake of my head. Gasps emerged and shocked faces filled the room, I idly wondered if I had just disrespected someone's family. Shannon, the lab manager, quickly pulled up the menu and demanded we order Fat Sal's for lunch. The rest is history.  

Some of you may be familiar with Fat Sal's if you worship Guy Fieri's Diners, Drive Ins, and Dives. Anyway, Fat Sal's is run by an East turned West Coast team. For the full scoop on that, I'd watch the episode. 

Anyway, Fat Sal's is big on big...or in their case Fat. Fat Sandwiches. Fat Sauce. Fat Fries. Everything Fat. I've tried their fries and sandwiches and I've got to say, they live up to the hype each time. I've only tried their signature sandwiches, mainly because their Fat Sandwiches seem like I'd end up in a hospital. 

Most of their Fat Sandwiches include mozzarella sticks, fries, and chicken tenders inside the sandwich (wild).

Their Fat Fries are meals within themselves. I usually go for the Buffalo Chicken Fries, but trust me, there's something for everyone. If you're ever by UCLA, I highly recommend skipping the In n' Out and trying Fat Sal's. You definitely won't regret it.
